The prominent thorn-like projections give this remarkable species a distinctive appearance unlike most commonly cultivated aroids. Native to the tropical South Pacific, Cyrtosperma johnstonii develops increasingly impressive foliage as it matures, creating a bold tropical display. Its unusual combination of ornamental leaves and formidable spiny petioles makes it a fascinating addition to collections of rare and exotic tropical plants.

Basic Care

Light: Bright indirect light to partial shade.

Water: Keep the growing medium consistently moist but not waterlogged.

Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity.

Temperature: 65–90°F.

Fertilizer: Apply a balanced fertilizer during active growth.

Difficulty: Moderate.

Phonetic: seer-toh-SPER-muh john-STON-ee-eye

Leaf Stork specializes in rare tropical plants and collector aroids — Anthurium, Monstera, Philodendron, Syngonium, and Alocasia.
