Philodendron Dark Lord is a striking climbing hybrid known for its elongated, glossy leaves and dramatic color transition. New leaves emerge in bright copper to reddish-orange tones before maturing into deep green, often appearing nearly black under lower light conditions.

The foliage is smooth and reflective — not velvety — with rich burgundy undersides and deep red petioles that intensify the plant’s bold contrast. As it climbs, leaves become larger and more elongated, giving it a strong, architectural presence.

When grown with a moss pole or totem, Dark Lord develops its most dramatic form, producing larger leaves and stronger coloration. A highly sought-after collector plant for its evolving color and powerful tropical aesthetic.

Basic Care
Light: Bright, indirect light enhances color transitions; avoid harsh direct sun.
Water: Allow the top inch of soil to dry slightly between waterings while keeping soil evenly moist.
Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity (60–80 %).
Temperature: Ideal 65–85 °F; protect from cold drafts.
Fertilizer: Feed every 2–4 weeks during the growing season with a balanced fertilizer.
Difficulty: Easy to Moderate — thrives with warmth, humidity, and vertical support.

Phonetic: fil-oh-DEN-dron dark lord
