Vanilla planifolia is the true vanilla orchid — a rare tropical climbing vine responsible for producing natural vanilla beans. This fast-growing orchid develops long, fleshy vines with glossy green leaves and aerial roots that cling to surfaces as it climbs.

Native to Mexico and Central America, vanilla thrives in warm, humid environments and benefits from vertical support such as a trellis or tree. With proper care and maturity, the plant can produce delicate pale yellow flowers, which, when pollinated, develop into the prized vanilla pods.

Highly valued by collectors and growers alike, this plant offers both ornamental beauty and the potential for home-grown vanilla.
